Bureau of Watershed Protection and Restoration Awarded for Innovation and Program Management
The Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works Bureau of Watershed Protection and Restoration (BWPR) and Anne Arundel Watershed Stewards Academy (WSA) are the 2025 recipients of the "Overall Winner in MS4 Phase I Innovation & Program Management" Award from the Water Environment Federation’s National Municipal Stormwater and Green Infrastructure Program for Municipal Separate Stormwater Sewer Programs (MS4s).

Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works, Bureau of Utility Operations Wins National Wastewater Operations Competition
The Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works (DPW), Bureau of Utility Operations, recently won first place in Division III for the 38th annual Operations Challenge Competition at the Water Environment Federation’s Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC).

National Awards Honor Anne Arundel for Continued Excellence in Wastewater Treatment Operations
The Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works Bureau of Utility Operations received National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) Peak Performance Awards for perfect National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Systems (NPDES) permit compliance at all seven of the County’s Water Reclamation Facilities (WRF).
